As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will manage the area of Manufacturing Engineering and Factory Maintenance. You will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure the most economical utilization of resources.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Required: 3-5 years of experience in people management; 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering/production.
- Preferred: 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering/production.
- Expertise in manufacturing processes with a focus on metal forming, welding, coating, and assembly.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, problem-solving, cost analysis, project management, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Basic skills in SAP and CAD.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct, guide, and coach department associates, including motivating, improving skills, technical knowledge, and personal development.
- Set and communicate clear department goals derived from company and overall factory goals.
- Manage the attainment of set department objectives.
- Ensure fulfillment of economic, quality, reliability, safety, and ergonomic aspects through equipment, tool, process, and workstation development and modification.
- Assure sufficient technical capacity planning and balancing (equipment and manpower).
- Standardize equipment, tools, processes, and workplaces.
- Incorporate new products/product changes smoothly into factory processes.
- Provide timely and efficient support to production operations.
- Initiate, promote, and control continuous optimization processes to increase productivity, focusing on cost reduction in labor, overhead, and material spending.
- Oversee plant maintenance, including the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Coordinate the factory investment planning and budgeting process.
- Plan and administer the department budget.
- Exchange regular information with Manufacturing Engineering colleagues from other factories.
- Participate in regular PCG/PD information meetings.
